June 16, 2010 SOME COMMON QUESTIONS REGARDING TRYOUTS AND TEAM FORMATION/STRUCTURE

QUESTION - What type of commitment is my player making if he/she is placed on a team?

At FCM Magic, we believe that the only people who should be deciding this most important issue are the people  who are effected by it; the parents, players and coaches.  The club does not determine the level of play or commitment required- we leave that up to each team.

That said, we do have teams playing at all levels; from lower division east central league play, to the various options for state league - Metro, First Division and Premier - as well playing  in the Midwest Regional League.  Each team will make the decision based upon the team's level of skill, commitment level desired by the parents and players, and the amount of travel the team desires.  Some teams prefer to play all games and tournaments locally, while others travel out of state.

From a more recreational approach to the highest level of competitive play, FCM Magic allows you to control your player's experience, not the club.

QUESTION - How are teams formed?

Our tryouts are administered using an independent assessment approach using a team of assessors to help insure objectivity in player selection.  We believe this method removes political and historical viewpoints from the assessment process and provides the players with an unbiased evaluation.

QUESTION - Can my U9 or U10 player tryout?

No, East Central Soccer District does not allow U9 players to play U11.

Yes,  U10 players can tryout for the U11 Dev. teams.

QUESTION - What if I have a conflict with the scheduled tryout times?

We are happy to work with your schedule to arrange an alternative evaluation.  Please email FC15dstewart@gmail.com  if you need to arrange a different time for your player's evaluation or call Don Stewart at 284-2426
